The catfish bazaar was held on Saturday, June 5 with 99 registered fishermen.  The weather was overcast which made for a pleasant day to fish.  Some of the attendees had good luck while others went without getting a bite during the bazaar.  We had 20 catfish checked in for the event.  The largest catfish prize went to Louise Wagner for a 27”, 7lb 12oz fish.  Smallest catfish prize went to D. J. Freeman for a 13.5”, 11 oz fish.  Britney Barnes took home a rain outfit after her name was drawn for the ground prize.

Thanks to all who attended the bazaar and supported this event.  It is very much appreciated. We encourage each member to bring your IRS dependents back and enjoy a day, afternoon or evening of fishing at the lake.

The lake limits for 2010 are as follows:  10 Pan fish, 5 Trout, 2 Catfish.

(2) Bass 11”—13” may be kept out of the lake from June 6 thru December 31

No Bass outside of these size limits may be kept.

Reminder:  No fishing anytime in the marked off area around the lights.

Please obey all the signs and rules while fishing or your membership will be in jeopardy

The Fish and Lake Committee is always looking for good committee help.  If anyone would like to be on this committee, please let us know.  Your help would be appreciated.

 REMINDERS:

Membership Cards and Drivers Licenses must be in your possession and will be spot-checked while fishing or using the club grounds.

The lake limits for 2009 are as follows: 10 Panfish, 5 Trout, and 2 Catfish.

Please obey all signs and rules while fishing or your membership will be in Jeopardy.

No fishing anytime in the marked off area around the lights or at the poles where the catfish nesting boxes are.

Pets must be leashed at all times on the Club grounds.  Pets must be restrained for the protection of other individuals and wildlife.

·               Please note that any fish you are taking from the lake for consumption will need to have a permit showing that the fish was taken from the Greencastle Sportsmen Lake.  Permits will be available at boxes located at the large information sign at the bottom of the hill and at the Members Pavilion.  This is a regulation/requirement of the Pennsylvania Fish Commission, so keep in mind that this simple card can prevent a $fine$ if you would be stopped by a Waterways Conservation Officer once you leave the Club property.

·              ·

Notice:  No live fish of any kind are to be used as bait in the Club Lake.  One member in our club has already lost their membership for not abiding to the rules and regulations, don't let it happen to you.
