The President's Corner:

Hello I hope everyone who chased turkeys around the mountains this year had a memorable hunt. Don’t forget to register your turkey beard at the December antler and turkey beard measuring to be in the contest that the club has for its members.

As we get ready to start the busy time for the club, with the Ox Roast on August 7th,14th and 21st  and the gun/cash drawing on the 28th.  We will need the help and support of all the club members to make these events a success. The club took in 140 new members this year and it would be nice to see all the new faces come out to help with these events. For new members and existing members, there are signup sheets in the clubhouse on the bulletin board to let us know when you can help. If you are a regular participant, (and I thank you) to these events you don’t need to sign up and as always I will see you there. With all this in mind, I would like to thank everyone in advance, and look forward to seeing everyone at these events.

Included with this newsletter you will find raffle tickets for a drawing on the last night of the ox roast. The tickets are $1.00 each or six tickets for $5.00.  if possible please purchase or sell these tickets the proceeds are used to help with club improvement.  Return the stubs and money to P.O Box 632 or hand them in during the ox roast. They can also be put in the new drop box in the clubhouse.  If you would like to join or help with a committee listed in the newsletter, please contact the members listed for more information.

With my term about to be over in November, I look back and see all the changes the club has made, some much needed and required and some for the club to keep moving forward so our children can carry on the traditions and the name of one of the best and most talked about clubs in the area. As President I would like to thank all the members and non-members who helped along the way to make these changes possible. Just remember, there is no jobs to big or small that with willing members that participate you can accomplish anything. It has been an honor and a privilege to serve as your President and I am grateful for all the memories I will take with me.

Respectfully yours,

Mike Hammond
